Geoff Noonan | Instructor & Senior Consultant
Geoff Noonan has over 30 years of law enforcement, military, and private sector experience, having begun his professional career as a Naval Officer in 1993. Geoff earned a Bachelor of Arts from California Polytechnic at Pomona and received a commission as a Naval Officer from UCLA. Prior to starting his law enforcement career, Geoff served as a U.S. Naval Officer from 1993 to 2000 making two deployments to the Persian Gulf and one to the Western Pacific. He served as an Engineering Officer on board USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63), Operations Officer and Tomahawk Watch officer onboard USS Merrill (DD976) and Course Manager for Anti -Submarine Warfare Training Command Pacific Fleet.
Following his military career, he took on a new challenge and joined the US Secret Service as a Special Agent. As a Special Agent with the Secret Service, he has worked on various protective and investigative assignments. He began his career in the San Diego Field Office where he worked counterfeit and cyber enabled fraud cases and was assigned the San Diego Regional Fraud Task Force. During that time, he conducted one of the largest thefts of credit card data. It also resulted in several international arrests.
In 2006 he was transferred to Washington DC and was assigned to the Presidential Protection Division (PPD). During his time on PPD he protected the President and their families for President George W. Bush and President Barrack Obama. He conducted numerous protective advances including participating in five National Security Events (NSSE).
In 2011 he was transferred to the Los Angeles Field Office and was the supervisor for the Asset Forfeiture Squad. He then quickly rose through the ranks and was promoted to the Assistant to the Special Agent in Charge of the U.S. Secret Service Cyber Fraud Task Forces (CFTF) Los Angeles. Here he conducted numerous high level complex cases to prevent, detect, and mitigate complex cyber-enabled financial crimes, with the goal of arresting and convicting the most harmful perpetrators. During his time, he created one of the largest and most effective cyber-crime task forces in the country bringing together cyber teams from federal, state, and local law enforcement. Additionally, he worked closely with private sector stake holders to continue to develop current trends in cyber-crime.
After 20 years of service to the USSS, Geoff Noonan retired and accepted the role as the Chief Security Officer (CSO) for the iconic MGM Studios. Where he oversaw all aspects of the studio’s physical and cyber security operations. During his time, he managed the studio’s response to COVID and how to safely return the workforce back to “normal” operations, while supporting operational tempo, movie production and marketing events. He oversaw a flawless World Premiere of James Bond “No Time To Die” in London in 2021. Additionally, he oversaw all the security integration after the purchase of MGM by Amazon.
