Trevin Freitas | Instructor & Consultant
Trevin was born and raised in Modesto, CA enlisting in the United States Marine Corps directly out of high school in 2000, serving in the infantry. In 2003, he was deployed serving a combat tour as part of the initial ground offensive for Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was honorably discharged in 2004.
In 2004, Trevin returned home and worked as a patrol deputy with the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department for two years before transferring to the Tracy Police Department in 2006. Trevin worked various assignments as an officer to include patrol and as an investigator of crimes ranging from financial to homicide. Trevin was promoted to sergeant in 2014, working as a patrol supervisor and as the community policing supervisor. In 2017, he was promoted to lieutenant working as patrol watch commander, managing the departments investigations unit, with the last two and a half years managing and leading the professional standards and training for the department where he was responsible for all training, policy, compliance issues, and internal/personnel investigations.
For almost the entirety of his career, Trevin has been involved in training serving in several capacities such as a field training officer, firearms instructor, supervising the defensive tactics unit, and serving as the department's training manager for six years.
